Man, I love my peanut butter.
I really love it.
Not just a spoonful, either. I want a ton.
Indefinitely.
Well, we’re coming to the end of December.
And in November, we started the November ‘NO’ Challenge, which was the start of my NO to peanut butter month.
Sixty days in, I am still going at it.
I have no intention of stopping.
But why not have a little taste?
Because nothing tastes as good as I feel right now.
Nothing. Not even peanut butter.
My gut health is better.
I have less inflammation.
Oh, my pants fit better too.
I’m lighter.
And besides, a little taste will inevitably turn into a big problem:
Indulgence.
Once you restart a bad habit, it’s difficult—almost impossible—to stop.
So for me, it’s just easier to say NO altogether.
Makes it easier for me to keep myself accountable to myself and all of you.
My goal?
To set an example.
To inspire you.
If you wrestle with a personal challenge, like I do with food, the only way to get past it and move forward is to:
be aware of it constantly,
find a mantra for overcoming it,
and set yourself free.
Now, I have turned this entire November NO Challenge into a gamified lifestyle challenge of “when do I open the jar?”
I even had someone say to me, “Keith, have some peanut butter, practice what you preach and ‘begin again. It’s OK.”
My response: I feel too good right now. I haven’t earned my taste of peanut butter.
More importantly: nothing tastes as good as fit feels.
That’s my mantra that keeps me out of the peanut butter jar, the bakery, and other food temptations.
