When Jonathan Pritchard was five, he discovered magic. Every time someone asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he’d confidently say, “a magician!”
He was the weird kid who hung out in the library every day to read books about art and magic. His parents thought it was a phase.
But the phase never passed.
As he grew, so did his passion for magic.
He immersed himself in the craft and became a sought-after performer. In time, though, Jonathan sought meaning and purpose.
He wanted to help people.
He wanted to contribute to making the world a better place.
That’s when he realized he could apply his knowledge of human psychology to the business world.
“Business is one of the best ways to help the world be a better place.”
—Jonathan Pritchard
Today, he’s still a sought-after performer.
But he’s using his skills to do more than entertain.
He’s using it to create deep connections between brands and their audiences.
Jonathan’s standout Business Athlete skill: Communication.
“ … every business deals with people. I can’t think of a single business that doesn’t deal with people, employee and client side.
As much as AI is the talk of the town right now, we don’t have AI companies selling to AI companies.
But every business deals with people.
Communication is being able to understand them, and them understanding you. Most people think they’re a good communicator because they talk a lot. But it isn’t what you say; it’s what your audience hears and understands about what it is you’re saying.”
Besides the art of effective communication, we talked about the fine line of maintaining vulnerability and authenticity when dealing with people in the different aspects of life, like when you’re dealing with clients vs. when you’re at home.
